Who’s the daddy?

Footballing legend and World Cup winner Ronaldo is to take a paternity test to see whether he’s the father of a five-year-old boy in Singapore.

It seems the Brazilian, 34, is as good at scoring off the pitch as he was on it in his heyday. He said on Twitter that he met the ‘beautiful, polite’ boy, called Alex, last Sunday, and added that if the tests come back positive he ‘will take on the responsibilities and pleasures’ of being a Dad.

The boy’s mother, Michele Umezu, became pregnant in Tokyo in 2002. The date coincides with when Ronnie was there on a pre-season tour with his former club, Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, the leading talisman in the history of the World Cup, already has three children: a ten-year-son with a former girlfriend, and two daughters, aged one and eight-months with his current wife Bia.
