Vicar tries to rescue Soho brothel

A Soho brothel which is facing closure has received help from an unlikely source: the local vicar. Police are trying to close down the knocking shop claiming that it attracts drug dealers and crooks.

But according to the London Evening Standard, the unnamed Reverend told Westminster magistrates that there had been no decrease in the selling of illegal narcotics since the house of ill repute was temporarily closed two weeks ago.

"I live five doors away from the brothel. I have seen drug dealing opposite the rectory, but I have never seen drug dealing going on outside [the bordello]," the vicar told the court. A verdict in the case will be decided tomorrow. More tea anyone?
