Thousands go nude in the north

If you were lazily swanning around Manchester, enjoying the bank holiday weekend you may have got more than you bargained for after legendary artist Spencer Tunick decided to stage his latest photograph there.

The American snapper is famed for travelling the world taking pictures of thousands of people stark balls naked in front of well known landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, Grand Central Station in New York and many others. According to The Daily Telegraph, it was Manchester’s turn on Sunday.

The photoshoot took place at the Lowry art gallery in Salford with over a 1000 keen volunteers ready to drop their pants all in the name of the art - and people say it grim up north... If you’re planning on going to this year’s Big Chill Festival be prepared, because Mr Tunick is too.
