Swede teens' sex dreams

More fuel has been added to the fire for those who believe that Sweden has a more lax approach to sex education than other European countries, as a class of 14-year-olds in southern Sweden were asked to write essays about their sexual fantasies and experiences, reports The Local.

Entitled ‘The First Time’, the assignment asked students to imagine they were talking to a close friend they could confide in and to write about their past sexual escapades. Other options included making up a story about when they first had sex, writing about their first sexual experience, or to say how they would like it to be.

While the assignment left some students embarrassed, the red faces of parents denoted more anger than embarrassment. One said: ‘Can they really do this? As a parent, it doesn't feel right and it irritates me that we're talking about a graded assignment in a Swedish-language lesson.’

But a teacher from the school was surprised at the fuss being made over the assignment, claiming that most students had enjoyed the cooperative exercise between the biology, sex and well being, and Swedish-language departments.

Apparently the teacher didn’t have much success reading the students’ efforts as half the pages were stuck together. Boom Boom.
