Simply Red-faced

Simply Red’s Mick Hucknell has apologised to the hundreds of women he bedded during the height of the pop group’s fame.

In an interview with the Guardian, the lothario claimed to have ‘a natural empathy with women’ but went on to admit: ‘I regret the philandering. In fact, can I issue a public apology through the Guardian? They know who they are and I'm truly sorry.’

Yes of course you are Mick.

The flame-headed star said: 'Between 1985 and 1987, I would sleep with about three women a day, every day. I never said no. 'This was what I wanted from being a pop star. I was living the dream and my only regret is I hurt some really good girls.'

If Mick were a woman he’d be called a slut.

The Manchester group, which Hucknall founded in 1984, had a string of hits, including Stars. Slutty Mick’s reputation with women has seen him linked with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Helena Christensen and DJ Lisa I'Anson among countless others.
