No go for Lilo

The troubled and controversial actress Lindsay Lohan has been told she’s surplus to requirements from the film she was hoping would revive her ailing career.

Given her CV, Lilo seemed perfect for the role of Linda Lovelace in Inferno, a film about the life of the notorious and tragic porn actress.

But the ex-child star, who’s in rehab again fighting her drug addiction, was sensationally sacked by director Matthew Wilder on Saturday. He said: ‘We stuck by her very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. But the impossibility of insuring her and other issues have made it impossible for us to go forward.’

The director confirmed that her role in the film was to be taken by Malin Akerman, her of The Heartbreak Kid fame.

LiLo, 24, meanwhile insisted that she quit voluntarily in order to fully concentrate on her recovery.

Sources close to the actress claimed that she felt the project ‘no longer felt right’.
