Billie Piper’s show Secret Diary of a Call Girl has received a nomination at the UK Adult Film Awards. The series, in which Piper plays a high-class hooker, could win Best Soft Core Production.

The steamy soap is also the only mainstream television programme to be nominated. Organiser of the awards Phil Black praised the former pop starlet for her raunchy performance, saying: ‘The sheer fact that the series was aired is a reflection of the changing attitudes in British society. Series such as this help a nation move closer to an understanding of itself.’

The awards also honour other categories such as Most Outrageous Scene, Best Fetish Film and Pay-per-view Channel of the Year and the ceremony will take place on 29 November.
