Secret Diary needs more dirt

While the programme itself has been criticised for its lack of realism, Billie Piper hasn’t convinced everyone in her role as the high-class hooker in "Secret Diary of a Call Girl", ITV2's adaptation of upmarket call girl blog Belle de Jour. Loaded editor Martin Daubney was particularly scathing, claiming that Billie was "more believable when she was chatting with the Daleks".

Could it be that the Ginger One’s ex-missus is just one in a long line of people who don’t really do sexy? Take Madonna (not sexy), Tom Cruise (would you…honestly?), Jude Law (no, no, no). To paraphrase Woody Allen, sex is only dirty when it’s done right – and wholesomeness, however well-concealed, doesn’t really cut it.
