Nude nuptials

Although fewer of us are tying the knot these days, those who do get married are doing so in ever-more innovative ways. We heard of underwater weddings, bungee-jumping weddings and even weddings with goats, but now it seems another type of matrimony is on the increase – the naked variety.

Although the thought of walking up the aisle in just a veil or a top hat may seem strange, for the nudists of the world it’s simply an extension of their garment-free lives. Let’s face it, if you spend most of your life nude, it would seem a little strange to cover up in front of a room full of those closest to you. The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), who offer a whole range of nude activities, has seen naked nuptials rise from just a few some years ago to 25 taking place last year.

We think it’s a great idea. Next time you get an invite to someone’s special day, you won’t have to worry about buying a new outfit for the special day. And, with wedding and bridesmaid dresses often costing thousands, it certainly cuts costs. Just make sure you marry in the summer, you don’t want your guests to get chilly…
