It’s common for couples having trouble conceiving to go without sex for several days – the idea being the abstinence helps build up numbers of sperm.
Docs in Sydney reckon this could be a myth. They’ve tested men producing low numbers of working ‘little soldiers’ – and it turns out they produce a higher percentage of healthy sperm the more sex they have. Going without does produce bigger numbers of sperm – but more of the little fellas are not in full working order. So it’s a kind of trade-off.
We advocate having more sex, naturally. After all, quality always wins out over quantity.
