Former troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is gracing the cover of New York magazine this week and we are seeing a lot more of her than ever before. Lindsay has donned a blonde wig and stripped completely naked to re-enact the shoot done by Marilyn Monroe in 1962, six weeks before she died.
The pictures were taken by Bert Stern, the original snapper, who photographed Marilyn 46 years ago. The collection of photos, known as the Last Sitting, are the most famous photos of the icon and Stern wanted to recreate the scenes because of the apparent similarities he sees between Lohan and Monroe.
"They're girls that draw attention to their notoriety and their celebrity through their behaviour," he said. He also added that they had the same problems with alcohol. In the original shoot Monroe was seen drinking out of a glass of champagne and is said to have been drunk for the shoot. This time though there was no alcohol on the set. Thank goodness!
We can’t help but think this was less of an hommage and more of an attempt by Lindsay to grab some attention - but hey, you get to see her naked. If she’s willing to strip, we’re willing to look…
