Sayonara sex-life

It's a strange world indeed when Government officials start taking an interest in your sex-life. Not the sex-life of the average UK or US teenager - all lusty glances, hours in the bathroom and raging hormones - but in statistics which show that in your country (here, read: Japan), there is a growing percentage of young men who simply can't be bothered with sex.

And therein lies the problem: young women might have their hormones finely tuned on things other than the old hokey-pokey but when teenage guys fancy a game of footie instead of hopping on the good foot and doing the bad thing, it spells an aging population, and a worried Government, Jezebel informs us.

'Kunio Kitamura, head of the Japan Family Planning Association, says, "A comparison of the 2008 and 2010 findings show that men indeed have become ‘herbivores.'' Japanese opinionators have been discussing 'herbivore men' — guys who are supposedly more interested in fashion than in sex or money — for several years now, and non-Japanese publications like the Times of London have reported on the so-called trend.

Is it us or is that term only slightly insulting to vegetarian people?!
