Family of iconic porn actress Linda Lovelace criticise biopic plans

As the star of notorious blue movie Deep Throat, Linda Boreman was once the poster for pornography. The actress, who appeared as Linda Lovelace in the film, gained global renown for the role, but within years renounced the sex industry and became an anti-porn feminist.

Before her death in 2002, Boreman claimed that she had been beaten into doing porn and prostitution, and that anyone who had watched Deep Throat had seen her being raped.

So it’s come as somewhat distressing news to her family that Linda's life is to be brought to the big screen in new Hollywood movie called Inferno, starring Lindsay Lohan.

Linda's sister Barbara said: ‘She would have absolutely hated the idea of a film being made about her life. And I also hate the idea.

‘It's disgusting to keep dragging up her life like this. No one from the film company has told me about it. I had absolutely no idea this was going on. This will kill my father. He has taken about all he can take. These people are all just money-hungry. Why can't they let my sister just rest in peace?’

But Lohan, herself no stranger to controversy, defended the movie, telling the Sydney Morning Herald: ‘It's not about the raw sex and the shots of her fully nude. It's more about getting into her psyche and seeing how scared she was.’

I guess we’ll just have to watch it to make up our minds.
