Council to scrub Muff Road

Residents of the unfortunately named Muff Road in Orari, New Zealand have asked the local council to change the street's name after it became the target of muff loving souvenir hunters.

The Timaru Herald reports that the local council has stopped replacing street signs on Muff Road after the last set they installed 18 months ago disappeared just days later.

Timaru District Council is planning on changing the street's name back to its original moniker of Ohapi Road as there are no remaining members of the Muff clan still living in the area. The Fanny and Front Bottom families are reported to have put themselves forward as possible candidates in the name race.
