Condom-covered fountain fury

A giant sheath has been placed over a fountain to mark the birthday of the creator of the modern condom, reports Metro.

The tribute to Julius Fromm took place in the inventor’s hometown of Kronin, Poland, much to the annoyance of sourpuss Town Hall officials, who deemed it ’inappropriate.’

Fromm, who lived in Berlin, invented the first seamless latex condom in 1916, but was forced to sell his creation to the Nazis for next to nothing under anti-Jewish business laws.

After fleeing Germany he died impoverished in Britain in 1945.

A spokesperson for the supporters of the inventor explained the reason behind the stunt, saying: 'The town should be proud that one of their own created something that has lead to so much pleasure and is still contributing to world health.'
