City council accidentally advertises porn

The local council in the German city of Gelsenkirchen have apologized after accidentally advertising pornography on its website.

'It was a mistake,' a spokesman for the city authorities said. 'There was never any intention of the city providing pornography as a service.'

The faux-pas arose when a council employee decided to include brothels and sex shops into the search box to let the town's knocking shop owners and jazz mag peddlers find information on the council's sex tax.
