China craze for nude wedding pictures

The Chinese Government is on red alert to halt a bizarre new craze that is sweeping China for engaged couples to have their photos taken in the nude.

In China wedding photos are traditionally taken months before the ceremony itself. For years some couples have subverted the tradition by wearing western clothes.

But a new trend has seen couples completely strip off for the photos. The Government is angered by the craze, with the state-run Chinese Photographers’ Association ordering a ban.

Other popular photo themes include angels, Adam and Eve and scenes from Greek mythology. Some photo sessions are apparently based on soft porn shoots.

Photographers' association leader He Lin accused the couples of losing their focus. He said: ‘These photographs are contrary to the spirit of the institution of marriage,’

Marriage should be a sacred rite, we want to see this respected,’ he added.
