Apple juice better than joy juice

Whilst it's true that 'you are what you eat' and that what you put into your body, you will get out of it, scientists have been working extra hard this holiday season to put a stop to some particuarly crazy celebrity stories about nutrition, including Alex Reid's advice about the advantages of reabsorbing sperm back into the body.

The boffins at 'Sense about Science' (SAS) led by John Aplin, tried to reinforce traditional, common-sense views about healthy life-styles and a balanced diet by trashing several celebrity stories about diets, which included mixing charcoal with food to remove all the bad bits (we can thank Sarah Harding for that) and a great way of detoxing the body with pepper, lemon and maple syrup (from 'expert' Naomi Campbell.)

Cage-fighter celeb Alex Reid claimed that he often reused the nutritional value of his sperm by not ejaculating so that his body benefitted from the healty-eating equivalent of 'steak, eggs, lemons and oranges.' However, Aplin claims that 'In fact sperm die after a few days, and the nutritional content of the ejaculate is really rather small', Jezebel reports.

You would have thought men would be keen to brag about the benefits of getting sperm out of their bodies in order to make the fairer sex duty bound to help them out!
